What is a photovoltaic plant?
The Spanish photovoltaic market has become in recent years a business niche for foreign companies, which have set their sights on the execution of projects of this type.
A photovoltaic plant or utility scale are huge tracts of land (thousands of hectares) previously conditioned for the installation of thousands of photovoltaic modules, which will generate electricity through the photovoltaic effect.
Currently in Spain we have an installed photovoltaic power of 13GW and it is planned to triple the power to 39GW, which would mean an investment of 15,000 million euros.
How does a photovoltaic plant work?
From a control room, a monitoring of all the equipment is carried out, which are the ones listed below:
- Photovoltaic modules. Responsible for capturing solar radiation transforming it into electrical energy.
- Investor. It converts the direct current generated by the panels into alternating current.
- DC cabinet. Where the direct current generated by the panels arrives.
- AC cabinet. Where the energy passes that the inverter has previously transformed from direct to alternating.
- Transformation centers. Where the energy adapts to the conditions of voltage and intensity to be transported.
